Comme vous pouvez le lire sur le texte qui accompagne vos photos leur publication doit faire l’objet d’un accord préalable.

    Permission to Use Library Items
    How do I obtain permission?
If you wish to reproduce an image of a collection item, you need to apply for permission to do so, by printing and completing the form below.

Application for Permission to Publish or Reproduce Material PDF 26kb

Adobe Reader software is required to view and print this PDF document.

    Scale of fees
Fees are for the reproduction of one item, for a single purpose. If you wish to reuse the item, you must submit a new application. The Library has a sliding scale of fees for reproducing an item in a publication, a website or CD-ROM for exhibition or display, in a video or television program, or for any other commercial purpose. Some fees may be negotiable.

    Payment options
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or direct debit (minimum $20). If you require an invoice, please send a purchase order with your copying order.

Why do I need to obtain permission?
Images of collection items are owned by the State Library of Victoria (whether obtained by photographic, digital, photocopy or other means). They cannot be reproduced without prior permission from the Library.

It must be stressed that obtaining permission to reproduce an item is not the same as copyright. The State Library of Victoria often does not hold the copyright for items in its collections. In such cases it is the responsibility of the author or publisher to obtain the consent in writing of the copyright holder.

    What items attract a fee?
Reproduction fees will normally be charged for:

all printed items including prints, maps, leaflets, posters, ephemera, illustrations from books and periodicals, pamphlets, books and periodicals or sections thereof
all original paintings and drawings, manuscripts, manuscript maps, sculpture, models, relics and other objects
rare and original photographic prints and photographic prints produced from negatives owned by the Library
    digital copies of the above.
    Fee exemptions
Reduction or exemption from the payment of fees may be granted in special circumstances. Applications should be made in writing to the La Trobe Librarian, State Library of Victoria, and should be accompanied by a completed Application for Permission to Publish or Reproduce Material form (see above).
